Why Vacant Homes Struggle to Sell (And How to Fix It)

Selling a vacant home comes with unique challenges that make it tough to attract buyers and get the property sold. If you've ever wondered why vacant homes struggle to sell (and often sell at a discount), the answer usually lies in how they're perceived by potential buyers. Let's explore the top three reasons why vacant homes struggle on the market—and how staging can solve these problems. Lack of Emotional Connection When a home is vacant, it can feel cold and uninviting to buyers. People shopping for a new home aren't just looking for four walls and a roof—they are looking for aspirational spaces that get them envisioning the life they want to build in the home. Empty rooms fail to evoke the emotional response that helps buyers see a house as their future home. Without furniture or decor, it's harder for them to form that critical connection. Staged2Sell Home Staging: A Year in Review

As 2024 winds down, the team here at Staged2Sell home staging is reflecting on another wonderful year full of exciting projects, amazing partnerships, and huge business growth. We couldn't have done it without our amazing team or the important partnerships we have with our trusted realtor partners. Here's a snapshot of what we're so proud of and the milestones we're celebrating this year. 2024 Highlights—Our Favorite Staging Projects This year brought a variety of homes and creative challenges, but these five projects stood out for our team: 1015 Hornsbyville, Yorktown: A beautifully renovated home with black accents, warm wood tones, and an open floor plan. Staged2Sell’s modern touches helped this property sell for $30K over the list price in just 2 days! 501 Kerry Lane, Virginia Beach: Our most expensive staging project yet—a waterfront luxury home with space for a 60-foot yacht. Highlighting its unique design and luxurious amenities required creativity, and we were thrilled to see it find the perfect buyer. 1005 Land of Promise, Chesapeake: This restored colonial estate had it all—equestrian facilities, sprawling acreage, and luxurious features. This amazing property was a joy to stage because it was so meticulously designed. The results? This home ultimately sold for $930K after being purchased for $340K. 707 Hancock, Portsmouth: At just 900 sq. ft., this was the smallest property we staged in 2024. We embraced the challenge [...]
